18X Herding Group 1 Winner
Perennial U.S. Top 10 Winner
2012 CCA National 1st Place Veteran (8-11)
After taking a CCA Bred-By Exhibitor class placement as a six-month-old puppy, she hit her stride as special. She finished 2006 as the #2 Rough Collie (Canine Chronicle – All-Breed) & #7 Rough Collie (Hawkins) with minimal ring appearances & no advertising. She continued that success in 2008 finishing the year as the #1 Breeder/Owner handled Rough Collie in the USA and #4 Rough Collie (Hawkins System & Canine Chronicle). She was also #12 Rough Collie (Hawkins) in 2012 and #8 Rough Collie (Hawkins) in 2013 as a veteran. The capstone on her illustrious show career was winning the 8-11 Veteran Class at the 2012 CCA National under Phyllis Autrey.
Avery also made her mark in the whelping box as the dam of five (5) champions. In her first litter sired by Multi-BIS/BISS Ch. Twin City Secret Ambition, ROM she had two champions including Ch. Wyndlair Sea of Secrets and Ch. Wyndlair Dunrobin Winsome. Her second litter, sired by Ch. Southland’s Bowen Island, ROM included Ch. Wyndlair Madison Avenue (Multi-Group Placements), Ch. Taliesin Wyndlair Island Son, and Ch. Taliesin Savannah. “Savannah” become the foundation bitch for Taliesin Collies, producing Ch. Taliesin Lynmar Kung Fu Panda (2017 CCA Award of Merit) and Ch. Taliesin Panda Express. Kung Fu Panda finished his American championship, and then was exported to Kenji Shigi, where he went on to become the Top-Winning Collie in Japanese breed history, winning the Japan Collie Club National Specialty multiple times. When Panda Express was bred to Wyndlair Avalanche, ROM, Taliesin got Ch. Taliesin Continuum and Ch. Taliesin Fresh Powder O’Paray, two of the finest Collies of their generation. Taliesin Collies today are based off the progeny of these two spectacular Collies.
Avery spent her later years with Jennie & Michael Rutkas in Illinois as a dearly-loved member of their family.
